LACTASE (LAK teys) treats lactose intolerance. It works by replacing an enzyme (lactase) normally made by the body. This helps your body break down the sugar found in milk products (lactose).

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
Take this medication by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the package labeling, or take as directed by your care team. Take with the first bite of a diary food. Do not take this medication more often than directed.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. While this medication may be prescribed for children as young as 4 years of age for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can during the meal. This medication will not treat symptoms once you have them.
Interactions are not expected.
